Chair
Ann-Marie Chamberlain
Ann-Marie joined the Volunteering SA&NT Board in 2017 and was appointed as Chair in 2019. Ann-Marie brings in excess of 35 years of experience in Banking and Wealth Management at Senior Executive levels with National Australia Bank. As well as her roles with Volunteering SA&NT, Ann-Marie is an Executive Coach, a Non Executive Director with Police Credit Union, Trustee for Kalyra Communities and a member of the Culture, Nomination and Remuneration Committee for Bedford Group. Ann-Marie is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, AGSM & UNSW Business School, a Telstra Business Woman’s Award winner and a recipient of a Centenary Medal for Leadership.
Deputy Chair
Kristen Martins
Kristen has been running her own consulting company for six years where she specialises in Human Resources and Business Development. She services many clients from a variety of sectors including an Aboriginal not-for-profit organisation where she works in both South Australia and Northern Territory. Her client base includes small, medium and large organisations around their people and business development strategies, focused on business growth and diversification. She previously held the role of Executive Manager at Scope Global, and Kristen brings valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities volunteering brings to communities throughout the world from her exposure to the Australian Government’s Volunteers for International Development (AVID) Program. She has worked in the international development sector for many years as well as holding commercial roles in the human resources and environmental services industries.
Simon Bennett
Simon’s career has spanned a number of senior leadership roles in financial services in Australia and South East Asia. He is presently the non-executive Chair of a financial services business in Indonesia, following almost 10 years as the organisation’s CEO. Simon is also a volunteer business coach and mentor assisting in the development of young managers and entrepreneurs. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Graduate Diploma in Business Management together with an MBA from Monash University.
Paul Liew
Paul is a legal practitioner in South Australia, and has worked in areas of licensing and registration, regulatory work, compliance, investigative and enforcement acquired through Consumer and Business Services in the Attorney-General’s Department of the Government of South Australia. With an earlier background in accountancy, Paul has also worked overseas in events, commercial sponsorship finance and management roles. Paul lends his professional skills and experience for not-for-profit causes include housing homeless young people and as a volunteer solicitor with JusticeNet SA. Paul is also the treasurer and partnership director for the Singapore Business and Social Association. His appointment to the Board comes after joining as a Finance Risk and Audit committee member in 2018.
Stephen Hunter
Stephen is passionate about supporting volunteers and recognising volunteers as leaders in their communities. Volunteering has been a constant throughout Stephen’s life and has included diverse groups including youth diversion programs, RFDS Auxiliary, and Men’s Shed.
Stephen is currently an executive member of the Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service with over 15 years working in the industry both as a volunteer and alongside volunteers. Previous and concurrent to this, Stephen served over 20 years with the Australian Defence Force.
Stephen’s broad and diverse range of experiences has shaped his views that an empowered and supported community will seek to build wellbeing, strong families, and community resilience.
Stephen is currently a committee member of the Finance Risk and Audit Committee and the chair of the Northern Territory Committee.
Louise Marsh
Louise Marsh advises CEOs, Boards and executive teams on strategic communication, stakeholder engagement and reputational risk. She is Managing Director of leading corporate communication and public relations firm Corporate Conversation. Corporate Conversation’s clients include South Australia’s largest volunteer-supported organisations in the not-for-profit sector and other iconic brands across a range of industries.
Louise is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) Company Director course. She has contributed to the continuing professional education of South Australia’s leading company directors, presenting on the topic of crisis management in the boardroom.
Louise is also co-founder of spring manufacturing and steel distribution business Industrial Springs and Steel. Louise has engaged in volunteering activities at various times over the past 30+ years. In serving on the Board of Volunteering SA&NT, Louise strives to achieve greater recognition for the role of volunteering and strengthen its impact in our community.
CEO
Hamilton Calder
Hamilton is a well-respected and highly motivated hands-on leader with proven experience in stakeholder relations, strategic communications, and membership and events management. Bringing together key leaders and influencers, he has delivered better social and environmental outcomes for all. Previously Hamilton led the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA) in South Australia and the Northern Territory for 14 years, and undertook various national roles including CEO, Company Secretary and Director, Partnerships and Collaboration. Prior to CEDA, Hamilton held senior roles within policy, public affairs and economics with the RAA, Business SA, WorkCover and Department of Premier and Cabinet. With a keen interest in the community, environment and social justice, Hamilton sits on several voluntary boards including the Crescent Institute of SA (Founding Chair) and SA Leaders for Gender Equity.
