Community Programmes
Commonwealth Home Support Programme – Sector Support and Development (CHSP SSD)
The Commonwealth Home Support Programme, funded by the Australian Government, Department of Health and Aged Care, helps older people stay independent and in their homes and communities for longer.
CHSP Sector Support and Development
Volunteering SA&NT aims to support CHSP service providers through reforms to the CHSP, in preparation for a new in-home aged care system, and to operate effectively in line with the objectives of the CHSP and within the context of the broader aged care system.
We support CHSP providers by:
developing Learning and Development Opportunities.
hosting the Community Transport Volunteering Network.
collaborating with other Sector Support and Development providers to share resources and information for providers.
assisting CHSP providers with volunteer recruitment, management, and recognition.
developing and sharing resources with providers and sharing information about reforms
contributing to the national Sector Support and Development Community of Practice
Community Transport Volunteering Network
The Community Transport Volunteering Network, originally the Community Transport Working Group, was formed in 2018 and is a collaboration between Volunteering SA&NT and the Eastern Collaborative Project.
The network currently meets bi-monthly to share information, resources and support through the aged care reform process, with a focus on volunteering. If your organisation is a provider of transport with the Commonwealth Home Support Programme, and you would like to join this network, please email.
