We are thrilled to announce National Volunteer Week 2025 will celebrate the power of volunteering to bring people together with the theme ‘Connecting Communities’.

We encourage all volunteer involving organisations, governments, researchers, corporates, and other enabling organisations, to proudly promote the upcoming celebrations and use the resources widely to help increase the awareness of the vital role volunteers play in our communities.

Events happening during National Volunteer Week

South Australia

Monday 19 May | 9.45am-11.30am | Recognition morning tea hosted by Department of Education

South Australian government schools and preschools are encouraged to attend this recognition event to celebrate National Volunteer Week. Volunteers and volunteer coordinators in government schools, preschools and children’s centres will have the opportunity to network and hear from:

  • The Minister for Education, Training and Skills
  • Schools about volunteer programs
  • Department curriculum programs
  • Volunteer and student volunteer experiences.

Tuesday 20 May | 1.30pm-5.30pm | International Student Volunteering Expo 2025

Looking to get involved in your community? The International Student Volunteering Expo 2025 is your opportunity to connect with volunteer organisations, gain valuable experience, and make a difference. Meet like-minded international students and explore ways to contribute while building your skills. More detailts to be announced.

South Australia’s premier event for the volunteering sector, bringing together leaders, volunteer managers, government and corporate representatives, and volunteers to connect, learn and collaborate.

The South Australian Volunteer Awards are the State’s most prestigious awards for volunteers and recognise the invaluable work that individual volunteers, volunteer managers, community organisations and businesses contribute to our community.

Tuesday 20 May and Friday 23 May | 2025 NT Volunteer of the year Awards

Nominations open now for the 2025 NT Volunteer of the Year Awards. The Awards recognise the outstanding contribution of the Northern Territory volunteers, volunteer involving organisations and volunteer managers at work in our community. Award ceremonies to be held in Alice Springs and Darwin.
